FIXED MINDSET VS GROWTH MINDSET

The contrast between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset is profound and affects how people face challenges, effort, and feedback. While those with a fixed mindset believe their abilities and intelligence are innate and unchangeable, people with a growth mindset consider that these can be developed through effort and continuous learning. The former tend to avoid challenges out of fear of failure and view effort as pointless, assuming that being born with talent is what defines success. On the other hand, those with a growth mindset embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and see effort as key to improvement. Feedback is received defensively by those with a fixed mindset, as they interpret it as a judgment on their abilities, whereas those with a growth mindset value criticism as a tool for advancement. Finally, failure is perceived as a sign of inadequacy in a fixed mindset, which may lead to giving up, while in a growth mindset, failure is just another stage of learning, driving perseverance and improvement.
